The Ralph Lauren womenswear brand is a love letter to the designer’s wife of more than 60 years.

At the designer’s New York Fashion Week show, Ricky Lauren sat front row along with other members of the Lauren family as her husband took guests on a whirlwind romantic escape ahead of the official launch of New York Fashion Week.
Stars like Meghann Fahy, Cynthia Erivo, Viola Davis, Elizabeth Debicki, and Ella Hunt were among the celebrity guests attending the show in downtown Manhattan.
“Ralph just generally designs so beautifully for a woman’s body,” Hunt told The Associated Press after the show.
Unlike the opulent setting of his fall ready-to-wear show, which featured lavish rugs and antique chairs, this year’s collection was presented in a minimalist white setting. Attendees sat on ivory fabric benches, and models emerged from behind white doors.
As models glided down the runway, they showcased soft and sensual silhouettes in a color palette of navy and white, all set to romantic tunes like “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” by The Police.
For Lauren, the collection was an “irreverent take on romance” that “upends traditional notions of chic.” He emphasized a style that celebrates ingenuity, character, and originality.
The show kicked off with a stunning white corseted top paired with tailored white pants, followed by an array of rich blues flowing down the runway.
At 86, Lauren demonstrated his signature tailored designs, incorporating billowy white pinstriped pants and dramatic floor-length overcoats.
He added flair with oversized flowered brooches, feathered bolero jackets draped over evening gowns, and fringed scarves tied at the waist. Whether in heels or slipper-like flats, models looked ready for a European getaway or a red-carpet appearance.
“What Ralph Lauren is doing this year is writing through his clothes about a very kind of modern dream,” said David Lauren, the label’s chief branding and innovation officer.
Continuing his classic blend of masculine and feminine styles, Lauren showcased a golden fringed gown over navy trousers and featured two pantsuits as a nod to his first suit for women.
The collection even embraced a youthful vibe, pairing slim-fitting jackets with low-slung pants and distressed denim.
“What I love about coming to a Ralph Lauren show is that no matter where I am in time or space, I can grow with Ralph,” said actress Ariana DeBose.
As the show concluded, the stylish crowd eagerly awaited Lauren’s return, and he appeared wearing aviator glasses and a varsity jacket. He waved to his guests before sharing a kiss with his wife, Ricky.
