SAN ANTONIO – In a tragic incident, a man has been arrested after allegedly shooting and killing a woman in a home located in South San Antonio, according to local police reports.

The suspect, Ramon Vasquez Rodriguez, aged 70, faces serious charges, including murder, which is classified as a first-degree felony in Texas. This type of charge can carry severe penalties, including a lengthy prison sentence if convicted.

On Saturday evening, around 8 p.m., officers responded to a call in the 8500 block of South Presa Street. When they arrived, they spoke with Rodriguez, who had contacted them, claiming that “someone was bothering him.” This statement highlights the complexities often involved in domestic situations.

According to preliminary reports, Rodriguez admitted to shooting the woman inside the house. Unfortunately, the victim, identified as Norma Linda Villarreal, age 62, suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The exact cause of her death has not yet been released.

Details about the relationship between Rodriguez and Villarreal remain unclear, raising questions about the circumstances leading up to this tragic event.

Rodriguez has since been booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center, with a bond set at $250,000. This case serves as a reminder of the pressing issues surrounding domestic violence and the importance of seeking help in difficult situations.
