As we move into the later afternoon and evening, there’s a chance of spotty showers—about 20% around San Antonio, though the likelihood increases closer to the coast due to the influence of Tropical Storm Bertha.

Tropical Storm Bertha is currently weakening as it approaches the Texas Coast. Despite this, it is expected to bring showers and storms to coastal areas from Galveston down to Corpus Christi, and even near the Rio Grande Valley.

As Bertha continues its westward path towards Texas, it is likely to weaken further and dissipate, resulting in minimal wind and surge impacts along the coastal plains by Thursday. The system is expected to be gone by Friday morning.

For those with travel plans, Bertha poses no significant threats and should not disrupt weekend activities. If you’re heading to the beach, you should be good to go!

NUECES & FRIO RIVERS

Last week, nearly 500 billion gallons of rainwater fell, and it is taking time for it to drain into Choke Canyon and Lake Corpus Christi along the Nueces and Frio Rivers. Areas like Cotulla and Tilden are still experiencing flooding, with Cotulla expected to see the Nueces River remain at major flood stage through the weekend.
