DEL RIO, Texas – Recently, a judge in Del Rio made a significant decision regarding the bond for Kitty Diaz, one of three women charged in connection with the tragic stabbing death of 32-year-old Caroline Pena. This case has drawn considerable attention in the community, especially given the nature of the incident.

During a hearing on Wednesday, the judge reduced Diaz’s bond from a hefty $5 million to a more manageable $2 million. This change came after a careful evaluation of the case and the circumstances surrounding it.

Local journalist footage captured the moment when Diaz was escorted out of the courthouse following the hearing, highlighting the ongoing public interest in the case.

Kitty Diaz is not alone in facing charges; she is joined by Amaya Diaz and Kyandra Faz, who are also charged with murder in relation to Pena’s death. The incident occurred on June 25, where witnesses reported a confrontation at a residence on East 10th Street, which escalated into violence.

According to police reports, the altercation spilled into a neighbor’s yard, leaving visible signs of the tragic event, including dried blood on a walkway and a truck that Pena leaned on after being injured. This vivid scene underscores the seriousness of the situation.

Pena was rushed to a local hospital and later transferred to a facility in San Antonio, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries. This heartbreaking outcome has left the community in mourning and raised questions about the circumstances leading to such violence.
