HOUSTON – The buzz around the new space movie “Project Hail Mary,” featuring Ryan Gosling, is reaching exciting heights as it garners rave reviews, especially as it coincides with real-life space adventures.

Recently, Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen and his Artemis II crew had a special opportunity: they watched the film with their families just before embarking on their lunar fly-around mission. Hansen described the experience as “a real treat,” highlighting how it felt to enjoy a cinematic space adventure while preparing for his own.

Ryan Gosling, who shares Hansen’s Canadian roots, extended his best wishes to the four astronauts ahead of their launch on Wednesday. This connection between art and real-life exploration is something Hansen appreciates deeply. He noted during a live event organized by the Canadian Space Agency, “Art imitates science and vice versa.”

Hansen further emphasized the inspirational nature of the film, stating it serves as an extraordinary example of someone who goes above and beyond to save humanity. This idea of pushing boundaries and striving for greatness is a message that resonates with many and encourages the next generation to dream big.

It’s also noteworthy that Hansen is making history as the first non-U.S. citizen to fly to the moon, marking a significant milestone in space exploration and international collaboration.
