SAN ANTONIO – A tragic incident has occurred in Edinburg, Texas, where a woman named Marlene Vidal, 34, has been indicted on serious charges related to the deaths of her two children. Authorities allege that she killed her children, Aleeza Elena Vidal, 6, and Adrian Akeel Vidal, 5, and then set a vehicle on fire with them inside.

On August 6, Vidal was indicted on seven counts, including capital murder. The heartbreaking details emerged when first responders found the children’s bodies behind a warehouse on Richland Hills Drive early in the morning on May 15.

According to the indictment, Marlene is accused of intentionally causing the deaths of her children by cutting and stabbing them. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the deaths as homicides, further confirming the severity of the situation.

San Antonio Police Department Acting Chief Jesse Salame mentioned that they have gathered surveillance video, evidence from the scene, and statements from Vidal herself, indicating that she claimed full responsibility for the tragic deaths of her children.

While Edinburg police have not disclosed further details about their interactions with Vidal, it is clear that this case has shocked the local community.

Currently, Vidal remains in Bexar County jail, with a bond set at $1 million. She is scheduled to make her first court appearance on September 2, where more details about the case may emerge.
