BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – Recently, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) made a significant move against illegal gambling activities in the area. A deputy spokesperson reported that six individuals were taken into custody on Wednesday after a warrant was executed at a residence in southeast Bexar County.
The operation took place at a home located in the 100 block of Esma Street, which is near the intersection of South Presa Street and Southton Road. The sheriff’s office acted on a tip-off regarding suspected illegal gambling activities, according to Deputy Noel Diaz.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement officers discovered a total of 26 illegal gambling machines along with drugs at the property. This discovery highlights ongoing concerns about illegal activities in the area.
At least six people were arrested during the operation, with three of them having outstanding warrants prior to this incident. Deputy Diaz mentioned that this location has a history of criminal activity.
“Back in 2022, another warrant was executed here due to similar issues,” Diaz noted, emphasizing the persistence of illegal gambling in this neighborhood.
