FORECAST

TODAY

A strong upper-level high is currently settled over Texas, which means we’re in for some hot and dry weather across South-Central Texas. Expect temperatures to rise a degree or two warmer than yesterday, soaring into the upper 90s to low 100s this afternoon. The heat index, which combines temperature and humidity, will make it feel even hotter, ranging from 101° to 107°. Skies will be mostly sunny, with just a few high clouds floating by, and no rain is anticipated.

TURNING UP THE HEAT

The hottest weather of the week is on the horizon as we approach the end of July. Temperatures are expected to climb into the 100°–105° range by Thursday and Friday due to a strong ridge of high pressure strengthening over the area. When you factor in the humidity, the heat index could soar to 105°–110°, especially in lower areas and Coastal Plains. If these higher values are confirmed, we might see heat-related advisories issued, so keep an eye out!

EXTENDED OUTLOOK

We can expect a continuation of sunshine, dry conditions, and those pesky triple-digit temperatures through Friday. However, there might be a shift in the upper-level ridge that could bring some scattered rain and cooler temperatures to South-Central Texas by late this weekend. Stay hydrated and plan accordingly!
