FORECAST

RECORD HEAT CONTINUES TODAY

As we approach the end of summer with fall officially beginning on Tuesday, we are experiencing an unusual heat wave that is making headlines. Today marks the fifth consecutive day where temperatures are expected to reach a scorching 100°F. This will not only be uncomfortable but will also break the previous record high of 98°F set back in 1988. It’s a stark reminder of the changing climate patterns we are witnessing today.

THURSDAY RAIN CHANCE

Looking ahead to Thursday, we might see some relief from the extreme heat. A surge of moisture is expected to bring a few showers to the area. Although rain chances are low, the cloud cover and increased humidity could help lower temperatures by a few degrees, making it a bit more bearable.

PATTERN SHIFT NEXT WEEK

Looking further ahead, a significant pattern shift is anticipated starting Monday. The current ‘heat high’ will be displaced, and a weak front is expected to approach from the north. While it may not pass through completely, it should be enough to kick up some isolated showers and storms, particularly from late Sunday through Tuesday. This change is expected to bring “less hot” temperatures, offering much-needed relief as we transition into fall.
