Not only does he enjoy playing the sport, but he also actively engages with professional golfers, designs courses, and fosters friendships within the golfing community. Currently, Trump is spending the weekend at his golf resort in Doonbeg, Ireland, where he is attending the Irish Open, with golfer Shane Lowry holding a four-stroke lead as the tournament approaches its final day.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick emphasized the importance of golf in Trump’s life, stating, “The president works all day, every day. And there are two things that he does for enjoyment: He plays golf on the weekend and he loves to build.” This reflects Trump’s affinity for both leisure and construction, showcasing his multifaceted interests.
Trump is proud of his relationships with professional golfers, frequently mentioning them in conversations and on social media. He has publicly celebrated his friendships with renowned golfers like Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Bryson DeChambeau, and Scottie Scheffler, among others.
