NEW YORK – It was the 11-minute performance heard around the world. Madonna, Justin Bieber, BTS, and Shakira each brought abridged hits to the World Cup’s first halftime show in a whirlwind performance Sunday just outside New York. And it has resulted in some noteworthy streaming bumps.

According to Luminate, an industry data and analytics company, they took a close look at how the halftime show impacted the popularity of the songs performed. They compared the streaming numbers of each artist’s songs from two days before the performance to the days following it.

Streaming Stats That Shocked Everyone

Here’s what they found:

Justin Bieber’s Big Boost

Global streams of Justin Bieber’s song “Everything Hallelujah” saw a dramatic increase, more than doubling from 592,000 streams to an impressive 1.25 million—a rise of 110%!

Madonna’s Comeback

Madonna’s anthem “Music” also enjoyed a nice bump, with streams rising 66% from 193,000 to 321,000 streams.

BTS Lights Up

BTS’ hit “Dynamite” propelled its streams from 2.14 million to 3.05 million, marking a 43% increase.

Shakira and Burna Boy’s New Anthem

Shakira and Burna Boy’s official anthem for the 2026 World Cup, “Dai Dai,” gained a notable 24% increase in global streams, jumping from 14.78 million to 18.27 million. In the U.S. alone, it surged by 52%, from 1.68 million to 2.55 million streams.

Unique Patterns in Streaming

Interestingly, Luminate discovered that the artists experienced significant boosts in streaming only for the songs they performed during the halftime show. This pattern contrasts sharply with what often happens during Super Bowl halftime performances, where artists see spikes across their entire catalog. For example, Bad Bunny experienced a whopping 175% increase in streams after his record-breaking Super Bowl performance earlier this year.

These numbers highlight the impact of high-profile performances on music streaming, demonstrating just how much a single show can shift listening habits and bring new fans to beloved artists.
