SAN ANTONIO – A teenager was shot overnight while walking home from a store on the Southwest Side, according to San Antonio police.
The shooting occurred just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Bynum and Briggs avenues, which is close to Southwest Military Drive and New Laredo Highway.
According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), the teenager was walking home when a blue truck approached him. Someone inside the truck opened fire, hitting the teen once in the leg.
After the shooting, the suspects drove away. The teen managed to walk towards his home, where he called for help. He was subsequently taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover.
Interestingly, the teen informed the police that he recognized the suspects from school, which may provide crucial information as the investigation moves forward.
The police are currently investigating the incident, seeking any further details that might help in apprehending those responsible for this unfortunate event.
