LEON VALLEY, Texas – A heartfelt memorial has been set up along Grissom Road, surrounded by beautiful flowers, to honor the life of Rose Marie Jones. This memorial reflects the love and sorrow felt by her family and friends.

“She still had life to live,” said Julie Benavides, Rose’s sister. “I look at photos of her and can’t help but think she didn’t deserve this.” These words capture the profound loss felt by those who knew her, emphasizing the tragedy of her untimely death.

Rose Marie Jones tragically lost her life on the morning of March 7. According to her family, she was walking on the sidewalk near Timberhill Drive when a driver struck her, leading to her death. This incident has left the community in shock and mourning.

As of now, nearly two weeks later, the Leon Valley police are still searching for the driver responsible for this tragic accident. The family is desperate for answers and justice.

“It hasn’t been an easy process,” Julie shared, reflecting on the emotional toll this has taken on the family. Coping with such a loss is never simple, especially when the circumstances surrounding it remain unclear.

In their quest for justice, Rose’s brother, Armando Benavides, emphasized the importance of community support: “Anything helps. Any information will help.” This statement highlights how crucial it is for the community to come together during difficult times, especially in the search for answers.
