SAN ANTONIO – A peaceful neighborhood on the Northwest Side of San Antonio has been shaken by a tragic incident that occurred early Sunday morning. A woman lost her life, and a man was critically injured in a shooting that has left residents feeling uneasy and concerned for their safety.

The San Antonio police responded to reports of gunfire shortly after midnight on White Cloud Street, near Callaghan Road. Neighbors were startled awake by the sound of multiple gunshots, with one resident claiming to have heard around 11 rounds being fired.

Vincent Goularte, who lives just two houses from where the shooting took place, recounted his experience. He and his wife were alarmed by the noise and immediately called 911. When Goularte stepped outside, he found both a man and a woman on the ground. “I walked up on him, and I was like, ‘Hey man, are you all right?’ No response,” he said. Tragically, he then saw the woman slumped against a tree.

Goularte’s security camera captured the gunfire, providing crucial evidence. The footage shows nearly a dozen shots being fired, followed by a car speeding away from the scene.

Authorities reported that the woman, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The man, a 22-year-old, was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.

As investigations continue, police believe the shooter is an 18-year-old resident of the home where the incident occurred, and he is currently at large. It remains unclear if he was the one in the vehicle seen speeding away or if he had driven the victims to the house before the shooting took place.

Residents of the neighborhood are understandably anxious, as this area is typically known for its tranquility. Many hope that law enforcement will swiftly locate the individual responsible for this tragic event, restoring a sense of safety to their community.
