FORECAST

ISOLATED RAIN, MORE CLOUDS TODAY

Good news: we did NOT hit 100° on Wednesday and we’ll be a degree or two cooler today. Why? A nice slug of deep moisture will move in from the Gulf. This will help generate extra cloud cover and give us isolated downpours. A lucky few will see rainfall. If you do, brief, heavy rainfall is possible, along with an occasional lightning strike.

UNRELENTING HEAT

Hope for significant changes next week is fading. While the heat high will be suppressed for a day or so, any front or rain chance is likely staying north of our area. That means it’ll stay hot and humid. We continue to wait for our first front of the season.

Another fire near Rocksprings also grew larger, reaching 1,200 acres. It’s 20% contained. Fire conditions should improve today as humidity levels increase, along with a small chance of rain.
