SAN ANTONIO – In a tragic incident that has left the San Antonio community in shock, three people have died and one person is critically injured following what authorities are describing as a murder-suicide.
The shooting occurred late on Tuesday night, just before 11:45 p.m., at a residence located on Croesus Avenue near Vance Jackson Road. According to the San Antonio Police Department, the suspect, 25-year-old Carlos Ray Rodriguez Alcorta, forcibly entered the home and opened fire.
Tragically, Manuel Flores, aged 64, and his wife, Adela Flores, aged 60, were killed in the attack. A 24-year-old woman, whose identity has not been released, was also shot and is currently in critical condition at a local hospital.
After the shooting, Rodriguez Alcorta took his own life. Fortunately, a 33-year-old woman and a 4-year-old child were inside the home at the time but managed to escape unharmed, according to investigators.
Neighbors expressed their shock and sorrow over the violence, describing the victims as kind people who did not deserve such a fate. One anonymous neighbor recounted hearing the gunshots, describing them as loud and frightening.
An extended family member of the victims shared a heart-wrenching account of the chaotic scene, stating in Spanish, “There is blood all around.”
As of now, police have not confirmed the relationship between Rodriguez Alcorta and the Flores family, and the motive behind this tragic event is still under investigation.
Concerns have also been raised about the emotional impact this incident may have on the young child who escaped. “For her to get better, to get to the child,” expressed one neighbor, highlighting the need for support for those affected.
