SAN ANTONIO – Recently, a San Antonio jury made a significant decision by finding a man guilty of murder in a case that shook the community.

Albert Casanova was convicted for the murder of Briann Hernandez, who was only 30 years old. This tragic incident occurred at the Oyo Hotel on May 2023, a location that has now become a focal point for law enforcement and the local community.

According to the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, the exact date for Casanova’s sentencing will be determined later. This adds an element of anticipation to the case as the community awaits justice for Hernandez.

Details from the investigation reveal that both Casanova and Hernandez arrived at the hotel together in Hernandez’s car. Surveillance footage captured Hernandez briefly in a breezeway outside their hotel room, shortly before the situation escalated.

Witnesses reported seeing Casanova leaving the room in a hurry, and he was later seen fleeing the scene in Hernandez’s vehicle. The tragedy was discovered when a hotel employee found Hernandez’s body while performing routine check-out procedures.

Casanova’s criminal history adds another layer to this case. Records indicate that he has faced multiple charges in Bexar County, including serious offenses such as assault, drug possession, and even arson since 2001. This background raises questions about his behavior and the risks posed to the community.

As this case continues to unfold, it serves as a reminder of the importance of safety and the impact of violence on families and communities. The upcoming sentencing will be closely watched, as it will not only determine Casanova’s fate but also reflect the community’s demand for justice.
