BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A Bexar County jury has recently sentenced a man named Ceasar Gonzalez to 42 years in prison. This decision was made on Thursday afternoon, according to the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office.

Gonzalez, who is 45 years old, was convicted on Wednesday before Judge Joel Perez in the 437th Criminal District Court of Bexar County. The case has drawn attention due to Gonzalez’s history as a “habitual offender.”

According to court records, Gonzalez was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over by law enforcement because the driver had “outstanding warrants.” During the stop, officers discovered around 17 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, and items that suggested involvement in drug distribution inside Gonzalez’s backpack.

The prosecution also highlighted Gonzalez’s troubling past, including a previous conviction for child sexual assault. This added to the seriousness of the current charges against him.

Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales emphasized the dangers posed by drug trafficking, stating, “Drug trafficking poses a serious threat to the safety and well-being of our community, and habitual offenders who continue to engage in criminal activity must be held accountable.” He further noted that the sentence reflects the commitment of law enforcement and the district attorney’s office to keep dangerous individuals off the streets and protect the community.
