UNIVERSAL CITY, Texas – A man named Daniel Navejar, who is 53 years old, has been arrested and now faces charges of arson after investigators say he intentionally set fire to two homes in Universal City back in March. This incident has raised eyebrows in the community and highlights the serious consequences of such actions.

The first fire occurred on March 5, followed by a second fire on March 14, both located in the 900 block of Cibolo Trail. Fire crews responded promptly to both incidents, which were alarming to local residents.

According to the arrest affidavit, the first fire was described as a “vegetation fire,” which suggests that it started in nearby brush or grass. During their investigation, authorities discovered an “oily residue” near the homes, which was confirmed to be gasoline, indicating that the fires were likely set on purpose.

Further evidence surfaced when investigators reviewed security camera footage. This footage reportedly showed Navejar near the homes while carrying a gas can, linking him directly to the incidents.

On March 15, Navejar was taken into custody by Universal City police for an unrelated charge. However, authorities noted that he matched the description provided by witnesses from the March 5 fire, prompting further investigation into his possible involvement.

During questioning, Navejar allegedly explained that he felt harassed by the homeowner involved in the second fire on March 14. He stated that the fire was meant to be a “scare tactic,” suggesting that he intended to intimidate rather than cause actual harm.

Arson is a serious crime that endangers lives and property, and it is crucial for communities to stay vigilant. The investigation into Navejar’s actions demonstrates the importance of evidence collection and the role of law enforcement in maintaining public safety.

As this case unfolds, it serves as a reminder of the potential consequences of reckless behavior and the impact it can have on both individuals and the wider community. Stay tuned for updates as more information becomes available.
