SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identity of a man who was shot and killed in a South Side home recently.
Eric Tellez Perez, who was 39 years old, died from a blunt force injury to his head, as reported by the medical examiner. This tragic event has been officially ruled a homicide.
According to previous reports from the San Antonio police, Perez was found with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his head on May 8 in a residence located on the 8900 block of Prairie Hill Street.
The situation unfolded a day earlier, on May 6, when a prospective buyer told authorities that Perez had approached them seeking work. The buyer agreed to employ Perez to assist with “cleaning the property” in exchange for money and food, according to the police report.
When the buyer returned to the property two days later, they encountered a shocking scene. They discovered Perez “laying on the ground” with “blood on the floor.” Upon realizing the gravity of the situation, the buyer immediately notified the original homeowner and subsequently contacted the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD).
