Today’s yardwork forecast

TODAY

Today starts off cloudy with some patchy fog and haze. If you’ve been waiting to tackle your yardwork, you’re in luck! The best time to get outside is before noon when it’ll still be cloudy. As we move into the afternoon, expect some sunshine and temperatures rising to near 90°F. With the humidity, it might feel closer to 100°F, so make sure to stay hydrated!

A very small chance for a severe storm today.

One thing to keep in mind is the potential for a stray severe storm. There’s a “cap” in the atmosphere which usually helps prevent storms from developing. This cap acts like a weak lid. However, if it breaks between 3 PM and 8 PM, we could see a storm with large hail. The chance of this happening is about 20%, so keep an eye on the sky!

THROUGH WEDNESDAY

The weather will be similar each day with cloudy mornings followed by hot, sunnier afternoons. There’s a consistent small chance (around 20%) for severe storms each afternoon from 3 PM to 8 PM, so stay alert!

THURSDAY & FRIDAY

A cool front will be making its way through South Central Texas on Thursday and Friday. This front will bring temperatures down into the 80s and increase our chances for rain to about 30%-40%. So, it might be a good idea to have an umbrella handy!

WEEKEND

Get ready for a much cooler weekend! Mornings will be in the 50s, which is perfect for sleeping in, and highs will only reach the 60s and 70s. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy some outdoor activities without the sweltering heat!
