This past Friday brought some much-needed rain to our area, with most places receiving between 0.25 to 0.5 inches. However, those farther east experienced heavier downpours, with totals reaching nearly 1.5 inches. In contrast, San Antonio and the majority of the I-35 corridor saw much lighter rainfall.

Looking ahead to the weekend, we can expect dry and hot conditions, with temperatures soaring into the mid-90s to nearly 100 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday. It’s perfect weather for hitting the pool or splashpad, but be cautious; the afternoon heat will be intense. Some areas along the Coastal Plains might experience heat index values reaching as high as 108 degrees.
It’ll stay dry and hot over the weekend.

As we move into next week, expect the heat to really ramp up. A strong ridge of high pressure is forecasted to bring a stretch of triple-digit temperatures, possibly leading to some of the hottest weather we’ve seen this year. So far, San Antonio International Airport has recorded just three days with temperatures reaching 100 degrees, although other regions nearby have experienced more.
For the moment, the forecast indicates that we will remain mostly dry throughout the week. There are early signs suggesting a slight chance of rain returning by next weekend, but this is still uncertain.
