FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS
FORECAST
THIS MORNING
If you woke up in San Antonio today, you might have noticed the rain. This morning, rainfall rates have lightened up a bit, but some areas received over 2 inches of rain in a short time. This heavy rain caused Flash Flood Warnings to be issued and led to the closure of several low water crossings, making it dangerous to drive in certain areas.
As storms are expected to continue through the morning, there is still a risk of flash flooding. Remember, if you come across water covering the road, it’s best to follow the safety message: Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
THIS AFTERNOON
As we move into the afternoon, the weather will depend on how well the atmosphere recovers from the morning rain. There’s still a chance (about 40%) for scattered showers and storms throughout the day and into the night, so keep an eye on the sky.
FATHER’S DAY
Looking ahead to Father’s Day, you can expect a shift in the weather. By Sunday afternoon, high pressure will start building in from northern Mexico into West Texas. This will gradually push the rain chances out of the area, and we can look forward to warmer summer temperatures.
EXTENDED OUTLOOK
Looking ahead to next week, the forecast is looking mostly rain-free. Get ready for hot and humid conditions, with highs expected to reach the mid to upper 90s. The heat index may even feel close to 100 degrees, so stay hydrated and cool!
Rain chances through Saturday, then a sunny and dry stretch of weather.
