HOT & DRY THROUGH THE WEEK

The heat is set to increase on Monday as a strong high-pressure system remains dominant over the region. Expect hot and dry weather to continue throughout South Central Texas all week long and into the weekend. Even though the high-pressure system is predicted to shift northwest toward the Four Corners by Tuesday, it will still keep temperatures near 100 degrees. With the heat index reaching up to 108 degrees, it’s crucial that everyone practices heat safety.

HEAT SAFETY

With temperatures likely to stay near or above 100 degrees for a stretch of days, keeping heat safety in mind is essential. Remember to hydrate regularly, take breaks in the shade or air conditioning, and avoid strenuous activities during the hottest parts of the day.

If you’re planning a trip to the pool or splash pad this Sunday, enjoy it! But don’t forget that being in water doesn’t remove the risk from extended exposure to heat and high humidity.
