COMAL COUNTY, Texas – A tragic incident unfolded at Hill Country College Preparatory High School, where a 15-year-old student died following the shooting of a teacher, as reported by the Comal County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).

The CCSO confirmed that the teacher was promptly taken to a hospital in San Antonio, although details about her condition remain undisclosed. The student’s cause of death has not yet been determined, and the incident has raised numerous questions among the community.

Authorities are set to provide further information regarding the shooting at 3 p.m. on Monday. As of 11:40 a.m. Monday, Hill Country Preparatory College High School, located near Bulverde at 3615 Mustang Vista, remains on lockdown. Students were relocated to Bulverde Middle School for reunification with their parents, a step taken to ensure their safety.

In a Facebook update, the CCSO emphasized that the situation is contained, assuring parents that there is no ongoing threat to students. Law enforcement officials continue to monitor the campus as the investigation progresses.

Principal Julie Wiley communicated with parents, stating that law enforcement is on-site and that the building is secure. She reassured families that students and staff are in a safe area and that the situation has been contained.

Community Reactions to the Incident

The incident has naturally sparked fear and concern among parents. Sarah Valdez, a mother of a freshman, expressed her sorrow over the reality of school shootings. “We received an alert from Comal ISD that the school was on lockdown, and I called my son, even though I knew they’re not supposed to use phones,” she shared.

Another parent, Jesse Lopez, voiced his apprehension about returning to school. “Once I reunite with my daughter, it’ll be difficult to explain that she has to go back to class,” he said, highlighting the challenges faced by children with autism in coping with such traumatic events.
