63-year-old man dies after suffering medical emergency in Comal River, city says

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – A tragic incident unfolded on September 18, 2023, when a 63-year-old man from Hallettsville suffered a medical emergency while in the Comal River. The New Braunfels City officials reported that emergency response teams were dispatched to the scene located in the 100 block of East Lincoln Street, near the last public exit of the river.

Upon arrival, authorities found the man in distress and immediately initiated life-saving measures. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not yet been disclosed, although officials have confirmed that his next of kin has been notified.
