SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs are set to make history in the upcoming NBA season, as the league announced on Wednesday that they will play a portion of their schedule in Europe. This exciting development comes during one of the most anticipated playoff series of the decade, showcasing the Spurs’ commitment to expanding their global reach.

The Spurs will face off against the New Orleans Pelicans in two highly anticipated games: one in Paris, France, on January 14, 2027, and another in Manchester, England, on January 17, 2027. These games will not only highlight the Spurs’ international presence but also cater to their growing fan base overseas.

This return to France holds special significance for Spurs player Victor Wembanyama, who will be making a homecoming of sorts. The Spurs previously played two games against the Indiana Pacers at the Accor Arena in Paris during the 2024-25 regular season, where they showcased their talent on an international stage.

The first matchup, dubbed the NBA Paris Game 2027, will take place at the same venue as before, allowing fans in France to witness high-caliber basketball once again. This will mark the Spurs’ sixth regular season game in France, further solidifying their legacy within the European basketball community.

Three days later, the Spurs will make history by participating in the NBA’s inaugural regular season game in Manchester. This event, known as the NBA Manchester Game, will be held at Co-op Live, marking a significant milestone for both the city and the league.

“It’s an incredible honor to make our return to France and play our first-ever game in England, given the strong embrace we’ve felt from the community and fans across Europe,” said San Antonio Spurs CEO RC Buford in a news release. This sentiment reflects the Spurs’ dedication to engaging with their international fan base, emphasizing the importance of creating memorable experiences that resonate with basketball enthusiasts.

Information regarding tickets and tip-off times will be released at a later date. In the meantime, the Spurs encourage fans to register their interest for a chance to win free tickets to either the Paris or Manchester games, providing an exciting opportunity for basketball lovers to witness these landmark events.
