SAN ANTONIO – In a thrilling volleyball matchup, the Smithson Valley Rangers faced off against the Brandeis Broncos at Brandeis High School. The Broncos entered the game eager to break a three-game losing streak while the Rangers aimed to extend their winning momentum.
As the match progressed into the second set, the intensity heightened. With Brandeis trailing by one set, Olivia Barber made a remarkable play, striking the ball down decisively. The crowd erupted in excitement, particularly thanks to Allison Rodgers, the team’s enthusiastic motivator, who was ready to celebrate every point.
Despite Brandeis’s efforts, Smithson Valley continued to showcase their skill. In a crucial moment of the second set, Emma Feomaia set up Anijah Pearson, who expertly found a gap in the Broncos’ defense and delivered a powerful slam, pushing Smithson Valley ahead with an 18-16 lead.
Although Brandeis managed to secure a win in the third set, the Rangers responded fiercely. Victoria Jaster came through with a decisive kill, sealing the victory for the Rangers in the fourth set and marking their success in the match.
With this victory, the Smithson Valley Rangers extended their win streak to three games, demonstrating their growth and capability as a team. Looking ahead, the Broncos are set to face Pieper in their next home game, while the Rangers will host Hendrickson in their upcoming competition.
