SAN ANTONIO – In an exhilarating showdown at North East Sports Park, the Reagan Rattlers faced off against the Brennan Bears for a decisive Game 3 in the first round of the high school baseball playoffs. The atmosphere was electric, with fans from both schools eager to see who would advance to the next round.

The game commenced with Reagan asserting dominance early on. In the first inning, with two runners on base, Dylan Sabariego made a pivotal play by hitting the ball to shortstop, allowing Will Van Wisse to cross home plate. This set the tone for what would become an explosive offensive performance by the Rattlers.

The momentum continued as Bodie Weyman followed up with a remarkable drive down the third-base line, bringing in two additional runs. The Rattlers’ early lead proved insurmountable for the Bears, as Reagan ultimately cruised to a 10-1 victory, securing their place in the area round of the playoffs.

Reagan’s Head Coach, Chans Chapman, reflected on the team’s performance, stating, “The first night we did not have a very good approach at the plate, and it kind of showed, but last night and tonight, we swung the bat really well.” This shift in strategy and execution highlights the importance of adaptability in high-stakes games.

Historically, Reagan baseball has been a formidable presence in the playoffs, making 25 postseason appearances throughout its history. Under Chapman’s guidance, the Rattlers have participated in 22 of those seasons, showcasing a legacy of success that is both impressive and inspiring.

As the Rattlers look ahead, they await news of their next opponent, ready to continue their journey in the playoffs. With their strong performance in Game 3, they have proven themselves as a team to be reckoned with, embodying the spirit of high school athletics and the thrill of competition.
