WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Boerne Little League team faced a challenging matchup against Hamilton, Ohio, on Monday afternoon. Despite having numerous runners on base, Boerne struggled to convert their opportunities into runs, resulting in a tough 6-1 defeat in their second game of the 2026 Little League World Series.
This loss marked Boerne’s second in as many games, ultimately eliminating them from the tournament. Hamilton, crowned champions of the Great Lakes region, showcased impressive pitching from Bob Frazier, who delivered 4 2/3 innings of shutout baseball. Frazier allowed only three hits, walked three batters, and struck out four from the Boerne lineup, demonstrating his dominance on the mound.
Boerne’s offense had chances early in the game, as they managed to put two runners on base in both the first and second innings. The team even loaded the bases in the third inning, yet they failed to capitalize on those scoring opportunities. In contrast, Hamilton took the lead with an RBI single from cleanup hitter Josiah Infante in the first inning, followed by a two-run single from Zach Hilton in the second inning, which established a lead that Boerne could not overcome.
On the mound for Boerne, Merritt Cude struggled early, allowing the first three runs of the game. However, he showed resilience by managing to hold Hamilton scoreless in his final inning of work, despite hitting three batters in the third inning. This determination kept the game within reach for Boerne, who finally broke through on the scoreboard in the sixth inning. Carson Patrick’s infield single allowed Cude to score, but the game concluded when Chandler Schramek lined out to Hamilton reliever Walker Osborne.
With this victory, Hamilton advanced to face Bayonne, New Jersey, the champions of the Metro region, in their next game scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Fans can catch the action, as the game will also air on ESPN.
