ATLANTA – The FBI has issued a directive to its field offices nationwide, mobilizing over 200 personnel to intensify its investigation into the 2020 election in Fulton County, Georgia. This move highlights the agency’s commitment to addressing concerns surrounding election integrity.

A memorandum obtained by The Associated Press details a request for a “surge” of 260 investigative analysts and operations specialists to assist in what is described as a “priority investigation.” According to the memo, each staff member is tasked with reviewing an estimated 708 records by July 17. While the specifics of the investigation remain undisclosed, sources familiar with the situation confirmed it pertains to the 2020 election in Georgia.

In January, FBI agents seized hundreds of boxes containing ballots and related documents from Georgia’s largest county, which is predominantly Democratic and encompasses much of Atlanta. A spokesperson for Fulton County declined to comment on the ongoing investigation, citing its sensitive nature. The contents of this memo were first reported by MS NOW, indicating the urgency and scope of the FBI’s efforts.

Former President Donald Trump and his allies have repeatedly asserted that widespread election fraud influenced the 2020 election outcome. However, Georgia’s election results were meticulously verified through three counts, including a hand count, all confirming Democrat Joe Biden’s victory. These findings underscore the thoroughness of the election process in Georgia.

The U.S. Department of Justice has previously announced its investigation into “irregularities that occurred during the 2020 presidential election in the County.” This ongoing scrutiny reflects a broader effort to ensure accountability and transparency in electoral processes.
