SAN ANTONIO – In a tragic turn of events, San Antonio police have reported the discovery of skeletal remains in a South Side park during the ongoing search for a missing 7-month-old girl, Ozana Cisneros, who has been the focus of an AMBER Alert. The remains were found on Friday night as authorities intensified their efforts to locate the infant.
The search was concentrated in the 600 block of East Theo Avenue, where Ozana was last seen on June 10 with her mother. The urgency of the situation escalated when the Texas Department of Public Safety issued an AMBER Alert for the child on Thursday, highlighting the community’s concern for her safety.
While police have confirmed the discovery, they have not yet determined whether the remains are human or if they are connected to the ongoing investigation surrounding the AMBER Alert. Lt. David Bacarreza addressed the media, stating, “We understand the concern from the community and the questions that they have but this is all the information we’re releasing at this time.”
Earlier that day, law enforcement located Maximina Cisneros, Ozana’s mother, at a residence in the 200 block of Parkview Drive, situated less than half a mile from the park where the remains were found. The 19-year-old mother was wanted in connection with the AMBER Alert and has since been hospitalized in stable condition due to unspecified injuries.
As this is a developing situation, authorities are continuing their investigation and urge anyone with information to come forward. The community remains on edge as they await further updates regarding the case and the well-being of Ozana Cisneros.
