These showers and thunderstorms are expected to persist throughout Friday, especially during the morning and early afternoon hours. The primary concern remains the potential for locally heavy rainfall, with predictions of 2 to 4 inches in many areas and isolated totals reaching up to 6 inches by Friday evening.

As the system moves through, cooler air will follow, keeping temperatures in the 60s. Northeast winds may gust between 30 and 40 mph, contributing to a chilly and raw feel. Rain chances are expected to gradually diminish from west to east Friday evening as drier air moves in.
WEEKEND
The weekend forecast indicates a much-needed respite from the rain, bringing a cool, fall-like atmosphere. Morning temperatures are expected to dip into the 40s and 50s, with sunny afternoons warming to the upper 60s and 70s.
Dry weather is anticipated to continue into the early part of next week, accompanied by a gradual warming trend.
