Upon arrival, officers issued several verbal commands for the man to drop his weapon. Initial responses suggested he might comply; however, he ultimately did not follow their instructions. At a critical moment, the officers perceived a threat, leading them to discharge their firearms.

Chief Salame indicated that, so far, there is no evidence that the man fired his weapon, which was loaded with bullets at the time of the incident. Fortunately, none of the officers involved sustained injuries during the encounter.

As part of standard protocol following such incidents, the officers have been placed on administrative duty while an investigation is conducted. This approach emphasizes a commitment to transparency and accountability within the police department.

This story is still developing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available. As the community processes this event, discussions surrounding public safety and police interactions with residents are likely to intensify.
