FORECAST

TODAY

Today marks a significant change in weather patterns as much cooler air arrives following a strong cold front. Expected highs will range from the mid-50s in the Hill Country to the 60s and low 70s elsewhere, reflecting a drop of about 20 to 25 degrees compared to yesterday’s temperatures. This morning will see mostly cloudy skies, with a chance of patchy drizzle or light rain primarily affecting the Hill Country, Southern Edwards Plateau, and along the Rio Grande. However, any rain amounts are anticipated to be minimal. By mid to late afternoon, we can expect the clouds to thin out and northerly winds to ease.

THIS WEEKEND

Looking ahead to the weekend, Sunday will bring a welcome change as sunshine returns. Winds will shift to a southeasterly direction, allowing temperatures to rebound into the 70s for most areas, providing a pleasant end to the weekend. This improvement in weather is sure to be appreciated by those who have been enduring the recent chill.

RAIN CHANCES

Despite today’s cool-down, it appears that this break from warmer temperatures will be short-lived. By early next week, we can expect a rapid rebound in temperatures, with highs climbing back into the 80s by Monday and Tuesday, and potentially reaching the 90s by mid-week as warmer air returns to the region. Rain chances will make a comeback from Wednesday into Thursday, as another cold front approaches. This front could bring the most significant rainfall that South-Central Texas has experienced in quite some time, though the specifics regarding timing and coverage will be refined as the week progresses.
