BOERNE, Texas – A devastating flood has struck Corrival Ranch, a horse breeding, training, rehabilitation, and boarding facility located in Boerne, Texas. This unfortunate event unfolded last week when heavy rains caused significant flooding, inundating the ranch’s buildings, damaging valuable equipment, and leaving behind a thick layer of mud.
Established just three years ago, Corrival Ranch has quickly become a cornerstone of the local equestrian community. However, the recent flooding has put a tremendous strain on the facility, with Ben Wolff, an investor in the ranch, revealing that the floodwaters rose alarmingly fast. “It all happened in less than an hour,” Wolff stated. “We went from being completely dry to having four feet of water standing in the buildings in less than an hour.”
The ranch is situated near Sister Creek, which feeds into the Guadalupe River. As the river swelled, Sister Creek was unable to drain into it, leading to a catastrophic backup that flooded the surrounding properties. In response to the rapidly rising waters, the staff at the ranch worked diligently to ensure the safety of the horses. Wolff reported that 65 of the ranch’s 120 horses were successfully evacuated to a nearby facility, while the remaining 55 horses were moved to higher ground.
Fortunately, no injuries to the horses were reported, but the ranch itself suffered extensive damage. Wolff estimates that total losses could range between $500,000 and $1 million. He pointed out the waterline left behind in one of the buildings, highlighting the extent of the damage to equipment and machinery.
“This is all underwater,” Wolff said, gesturing to the area where crucial equipment was located. In the wake of the flooding, community support has poured in. Volunteers have started to arrive at the ranch to assist with cleanup efforts, shoveling mud, drying out buildings, and beginning the arduous task of rebuilding. Wolff expressed gratitude for the community response, stating, “This is what it means to be part of a Texas community, and it’s unique, I think, in the country. God bless Texas.”
This cleanup operation comes almost a year after the local community banded together for search and recovery efforts following the July 2025 flood that impacted the area significantly. In a show of solidarity and support, the San Antonio Rose Palace is organizing a fundraiser for Corrival Ranch, featuring a $40 Horse Fun Obstacle Class scheduled for Saturday.
