SAN ANTONIO – In a significant development regarding the tragic murder of a young man, authorities have arrested Amariae Lamari Washington, a 19-year-old, in connection with the fatal shooting of Devin Farias. This arrest marks the second suspect taken into custody following the incident that occurred last month on the West Side of San Antonio.

Washington was charged with capital murder by terror threat on a Tuesday, just six days after another suspect, Davonta Dantrell Love Jones, was apprehended. Both individuals are accused of fatally shooting Farias on March 11 at an apartment complex located in the 7600 block of West U.S. Highway 90.

According to court documents, prior to the shooting, Farias had communicated with one of the suspects via cellphone, which ultimately led him to allow Washington, Jones, and a third unidentified suspect into his apartment. The warrant does not specify which suspect had been in contact with Farias.

Once inside the apartment, all three suspects reportedly brandished firearms. Witnesses told the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) that both Washington and Jones were armed with guns, with Washington allegedly pointing one at Farias and another at a witness.

The situation escalated quickly, as one of the suspects robbed and physically assaulted Farias while the two others held the witnesses at gunpoint. Eventually, Farias followed the suspects outside the apartment, where he was shot. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further investigation revealed that a tipster informed authorities that Washington had admitted involvement in both the robbery and the shooting of Farias. Additionally, both witnesses identified Washington as one of the shooters during a six-photo lineup presented by law enforcement.

Following his arrest, Washington was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held on a $750,000 bond, according to jail records. This case continues to unfold as authorities work to gather more information and ensure justice for the victims involved.
