SAN ANTONIO – A man has been arrested following an armed robbery incident that took place Monday afternoon at a North Side business. According to an arrest affidavit, the suspect, Dees Marcus, aged 54, faces two counts of aggravated robbery as recorded by Bexar County officials.

Law enforcement officers responded to a robbery call around 2 p.m. at the Planet 420 smoke shop, located in the 11400 block of West Avenue. Upon arrival, officers spoke with an employee who recounted the harrowing experience.

The employee and a friend were inside the store when Marcus entered, brandishing a handgun and demanding cash as well as their cell phones. The situation escalated when Marcus attempted to flee the scene, leading to a confrontation in the parking lot.

During the altercation, the friend of the employee sought to recover the stolen items, resulting in a struggle that left the friend injured with a stab wound. This individual was subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical treatment, highlighting the serious nature of the incident.

A witness to the robbery provided crucial information to the police, including the description of Marcus’ getaway vehicle, a maroon Nissan Rogue. The witness also supplied the vehicle’s Texas license plate number, which ultimately led to Marcus’ arrest.

Following his apprehension, Marcus was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center. The swift response by local law enforcement and the cooperation of witnesses were instrumental in resolving this dangerous situation.
