The announcement was made by Bulgaria’s public TV broadcaster BNT and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). The event is set to take place over several days, with the semifinals scheduled for May 11 and 13, 2027, followed by the grand final on May 15.
While Sofia, Bulgaria’s capital, also expressed interest in hosting the event, the decision to select Burgas indicates confidence in the city’s ability to deliver a spectacular show.
Eurovision director Martin Green shared his enthusiasm, stating, “Burgas will bring something truly special to Eurovision.” He emphasized the city’s vibrant culture, musical heritage, and well-established infrastructure as key factors in the decision.

Countries facing armed conflicts or security risks will now be barred from hosting the contest, ensuring the safety of participants and attendees. Additionally, the minimum age for competitors has been raised from 16 to 18, a move aimed at better protecting younger artists from the pressures of competition.
