SAN ANTONIO – A recent incident in San Antonio highlights the serious consequences of attempting to evade law enforcement. Officers were called to a family disturbance on a Monday night, where they found a troubling situation involving a 75-year-old woman.
According to reports, Daniel Castillo, 43, was accused of physically assaulting the elderly woman shortly after 6:30 p.m. in the 8100 block of Pinebrook Drive. Witnesses provided information to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), indicating that the woman sustained minor injuries during the incident.
Upon their arrival, officers arrested Castillo at the scene. However, he allegedly attempted to bribe the responding officers by offering them money to overlook their duty to arrest him. Such actions not only complicate legal matters but also raise significant ethical concerns.
Castillo was subsequently booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center facing serious charges, including bribery, classified as a second-degree felony, and injury to an elderly person, which is a third-degree felony. These charges reflect the gravity of his actions and the legal repercussions he may face.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Castillo remains in custody, with his bail set at $20,000 for the combined charges. This case serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting law enforcement and the legal system, especially when it comes to the safety of vulnerable individuals.
