SAN ANTONIO – For five long years, a San Antonio mother has been navigating life after a devastating Thanksgiving dinner that changed her family forever. Eashonne Wolford’s life took a tragic turn when her children were shot during a drive-by shooting, leaving a profound impact not only on her but also on her grandchildren.

On that fateful night in 2021, bullets shattered the peace of her family’s home, claiming the lives of her two sons, Charles Wolford, aged 28, and Eugene Hodge, aged 25. Her daughter, Shanobea Wolford, aged 31, was left paralyzed from the waist down and sadly succumbed to her injuries later.

Since the tragedy, Eashonne has transformed her home into a heartfelt memorial, adorned with flowers, photographs, and cherished memories of her lost children. “Not seeing my kids that are supposed to be there and are not there anymore. I’m bitter. Yeah, I’m bitter. Because I need justice,” she expressed, showcasing the emotional toll this loss has taken on her.

Despite the pain, Eashonne finds strength in her five grandchildren, who are now in her care. “They motivate me. They are my strength to keep going. Living without your kids is hell, but I still have to get through with God,” she said. Her plea for justice is heartfelt and direct, asking the perpetrators, “Why did you disturb my nest? Turn yourself in.”

Eashonne’s story highlights the ripple effect of violence in communities, emphasizing the need for justice and support for families affected by such tragedies.
