BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A shocking discovery was made in southeast Bexar County on Wednesday afternoon when a heavily decomposed body was found. Sheriff Javier Salazar addressed the media to provide details about the incident.
Authorities were alerted by local residents who were cutting grass near Hildebrandt Road. They reported finding a man’s body in a nearby field. Upon arrival, deputies observed visible injuries, leading Sheriff Salazar to believe that the man may have been struck by a vehicle days prior to the discovery.
As of the latest news conference, the identity of the deceased has not yet been established. Sheriff Salazar is urging anyone who may have been involved in the incident to come forward. He specifically mentioned that if someone suspects they hit an animal or noticed unusual damage to their vehicle while driving along Hildebrandt Road, they should contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).
“If they feel like this applies to them, they should most likely give us a call before we track them down,” Salazar said. “We’d much rather listen to explanations of somebody that comes forward and wants to talk to us about it.”
Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to reach out to BCSO at 210-335-6000 or via email at bcsotips@bexar.org. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to gather more details.
