BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A tragic incident in northwest Bexar County has resulted in the death of a young man, with authorities ruling his death a homicide. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that 22-year-old Steven Isaiah Brothers died last week from multiple gunshot wounds.
Compounding this tragedy, Brothers’ mother was also found at the scene with severe injuries, including a fractured skull and significant cuts to her head. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) reported that the mother was discovered after a family member, worried about their well-being, called 911 upon seeing the injured woman through a window.
The investigation took a turn when authorities identified Anthony Wayne Neasham, 65, as the woman’s boyfriend and a person of interest. Unfortunately, Neasham was later found dead in Burnet County. The Texas Department of Public Safety has stated that the Texas Rangers are looking into his death as part of the ongoing homicide investigation stemming from Bexar County.
The woman, who suffered what Sheriff Javier Salazar referred to as a “savage beating,” was reported to be conscious at the hospital shortly after the incident but was unable to recall the events that led to her injuries. As of now, her condition remains unknown.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into this case, and they are encouraging anyone with information to reach out. You can contact BCSO at 210-335-6000 or email them at BCSOtips@bexar.org.
