SAN ANTONIO – In a tragic incident that has left many questioning the safety of their communities, Franky Garza, a 24-year-old man, was shot and killed just two days after moving into the Sienna at Westover Hills apartment complex in Bexar County. The shooting occurred on May 6, and authorities are still searching for suspects.

Garza’s family, who reside in Carrizo Springs, received a distressing call from him shortly before his death. “Frank said he’s been shot,” his mother, Erica Garza, recalled, adding that she could hear him breathing heavily during their conversation.

Having moved to San Antonio only on May 4, Garza was still adjusting to his new life when the tragedy struck. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) was alerted to a report of an adult who was unresponsive. Upon arrival, deputies found Garza with a gunshot wound and attempted life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

“We call every day,” Erica shared about her family’s ongoing efforts to seek justice for Franky. “I ask to see what’s going on with the case, you know, like is there any suspects? Do you have anyone arrested? Of course, they say no.” This uncertainty has left the family grappling with their loss while hoping for answers.

As of now, BCSO has stated that they have investigated five murders in 2026, with two of those cases, including Garza’s, having no suspects in custody. “We want to make sure that Franky gets the justice he deserves,” expressed Alexis Ivy, Garza’s sister.

Franky Garza was remembered by his family as someone with a generous spirit and a kind heart. “He’s just so loved by a lot of people,” his mother said, highlighting the impact he had on those around him.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the shooting at Sienna at Westover Hills to come forward and contact the sheriff’s office at 210-335-6000. The community is rallying together in hopes of finding justice for Franky Garza and preventing further violence in their neighborhoods.
