SAN ANTONIO – After 10 long years, a mother named Janie Edwards continues to fight for justice for her son, Isaac Orosco, who tragically lost his life in a shooting on July 28, 2016.

Isaac was just 20 years old when he was shot in an apartment complex located off Loop 410 and Culebra Road, specifically in the 1500 block of Northwest Crossroads, as reported by the San Antonio Police Department.

On that fateful day, a black SUV approached as Isaac and another individual were getting out of their car. In a shocking act of violence, someone fired two shots, resulting in Isaac’s death. This disturbing incident was captured on surveillance video, which has been vital for the ongoing investigation.

“He deserves to be here right now,” Edwards shared, expressing her deep anguish. “And if anyone knows something—if they were there, if they talked to someone who knows something—I urge them to come forward. It’s been 10 years, and I want peace for myself and my family.”

Janie described Isaac as an ambitious young man with dreams of joining the Marines, highlighting the potential that was lost due to this senseless act. “It’s my love for my son,” she said, her determination evident. “I’ve never forgotten and I’m never going to forget about him. I won’t let go of the fact that someone did this to my son, even after all these years.”

Over the years, Edwards expressed dissatisfaction with the progress of her son’s case under previous detectives but is now hopeful with the involvement of a new detective who is reviewing the case. While there are reportedly two persons of interest, the San Antonio Police Department has yet to make any arrests.

If you have any information regarding Isaac Orosco’s case, you can help by contacting the homicide detectives at 210-207-7635, referencing case number SAPD16161616. Additionally, there is a $5,000 reward offered by Crime Stoppers for tips that lead to an arrest. You can reach them at 210-224-STOP (210-224-7867).
