Driver to face charges after hitting, pinning pedestrian near San Antonio College, police say

SAN ANTONIO – In a concerning incident on Monday, a driver is expected to face charges after hitting a pedestrian near San Antonio College (SAC). The accident occurred around 1 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Main Avenue, close to a parking lot associated with the college.

According to a preliminary report from the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), a 26-year-old man driving an SUV struck a 22-year-old woman. Emergency responders arrived to find the vehicle on top of the woman, which raised immediate concerns for her well-being.

After the SUV was removed, the woman was promptly taken to the hospital. Thankfully, her injuries were reported as non-life-threatening, allowing for some relief amidst the chaos of the situation.

While the driver was not arrested at the scene, police confirmed that he is likely to face criminal charges. However, his identity has not yet been disclosed to the public.

This incident is currently under investigation, and authorities are working to gather all necessary details to ensure accountability and prevent similar accidents in the future.
