BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A San Antonio man named Manuel Garza, aged 57, has been arrested after allegedly firing multiple shots at a vehicle in west Bexar County. The incident resulted in a stray bullet hitting an innocent bystander’s car, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).
The shooting occurred on March 27, just before 10:30 a.m., in the 4300 block of Talley Road. Witnesses reported seeing a dark-colored Nissan Titan aggressively pursuing a sedan while firing rounds.
During this dangerous chase, a bullet struck a white 2023 Hyundai Palisade, which was being driven by a bystander who was not involved in the incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the scenario emphasizes the risks associated with reckless gun use.
Following the incident, investigators identified a 2004 Nissan Titan as the vehicle involved in the shooting. On April 1, the Medina County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect vehicle at a residence on Kearney Street in Natalia, Texas. It was registered to Garza, confirming his connection to the shooting.
After obtaining a search warrant, BCSO discovered significant evidence that linked Garza to the shooting, as well as to an attempted cover-up. Inside Garza’s residence, investigators found receipts for a new front windshield and various auto parts, suggesting he was trying to repair the vehicle involved in the shooting.
Additionally, shell casings were recovered from inside Garza’s Nissan Titan, further supporting the case against him. Garza was subsequently booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center, where he faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and tampering with physical evidence.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation to identify other vehicles and individuals involved in this alarming incident. This case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of gun violence and the importance of responsible behavior when it comes to firearms.
