WASHINGTON – A member of Vice President JD Vance’s security detail is currently under investigation for allegedly leaking sensitive information. This situation has raised concerns about the safety and security protocols associated with protecting high-profile individuals like the Vice President.
According to Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesperson for the U.S. Secret Service, the investigation involves claims of compromised “operational and information security.” This could potentially lead to serious consequences for the individual involved, including criminal charges.

Guglielmi emphasized the importance of maintaining safety for individuals under protection, stating, “any conduct that potentially threatens the safety of a protectee will not be tolerated.” However, he did not disclose the name of the individual facing scrutiny.
This investigation follows reports from MS NOW that some Secret Service agents have expressed frustration regarding last-minute travel requests made by Vice President Vance and his family. Such logistical challenges can complicate the already demanding responsibilities of the Secret Service.
In response to inquiries about this matter, Vance’s office has referred all questions to the Secret Service. The Vice President and his wife, Usha, currently reside at the vice president’s residence at the U.S. Naval Observatory, where they live with their young children.
Recently, the couple welcomed their fourth child, Alec Neel Vance, making him the first baby born to a sitting vice president in over 150 years. Alec joins his three older siblings: Ewan, 9; Vivek, 6; and Mirabel, 4.
