HONDO, Texas – A man named Adam Hernandez, 36, has been sentenced to life in prison after accepting a plea deal related to a tragic shooting in Medina County that resulted in two deaths and another injury. This case highlights the serious consequences of gun violence in communities.
According to the Medina County’s 454th Judicial District Court, Hernandez received a life sentence for two counts of murder and an additional 15 years for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Initially, he faced a more severe charge of capital murder involving multiple victims, but that charge was later dismissed.
The shooting incident occurred around 12:40 a.m. on August 1, 2025, in the 200 block of County Road 4636 in Hondo. When deputies from the Medina County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of suspicious activity, they found three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Tragically, a 52-year-old man and a woman were pronounced dead at the scene. Fortunately, a 59-year-old woman survived the attack, highlighting the unpredictability of such violent events.
