Passenger killed in North Side rollover crash, SAPD says

SAN ANTONIO – A tragic accident occurred early Friday morning in San Antonio, resulting in the death of a young passenger.

The incident took place just before 2 a.m. at the intersection of the Loop 410 access road and Perrin Beitel. According to a preliminary report from the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), a BMW traveling south on Perrin Beitel ran a red light and collided with a Dodge Ram.

Following the crash, the BMW rolled over in front of a nearby restaurant. Sadly, a passenger in the BMW, believed to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported that the driver of the BMW and another passenger fled the scene on foot. Meanwhile, the driver of the Dodge Ram stayed at the location and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

Authorities have indicated that once located, the driver of the BMW will face charges related to the death of the passenger. This incident highlights the serious consequences of reckless driving and ignoring traffic signals.
